Tata Safari 2021: A Comparison With Other Tata SUVs:
Tata Safari 2021 We always knew there was going to be a three-row Harrier, Tata Motors made sure of that with the showings at Geneva and then at the Auto Expo. But what we didn't know was that this was in fact the new Safari. An inspired move no doubt, but one that brings with it the sentimentality and expectations associated with a well-remembered name. So now this needs to be not just a good SUV but a good Safari.

2021 Tata Safari review It's safe to say the old Kia Niro didn't have the most daring appearance among small crossovers, electrified or not. The new one has significantly more pizzazz after being redesigned from the ground up, both inside and out. It's one of those somewhat rare occasions when the next generation of a vehicle looks basically nothing like its predecessor.
Tata Safari 2021 Of course, that's not always a good thing since some prefer when automakers play its safe rather than give their cars a radical overhaul. Depending on which side are you on, the 2023 Niro will be a love/hate affair as this type of exterior design is unlikely to leave you indifferent. It echoes other bold Kia models launched recently, including the larger Sportage SUV. If the funky exterior seems a tad familiar, there's a good reason for that.
Tata Safari 2021 brings us to the point of this comparison:

And that brings us to the point of this comparison, the real reason why you're looking at these two here. As mentioned, the Safari is on its way out. To be replaced by a new, high-riding variant from Tata Motors, it will adopt the design cues that are characteristic of the new Tata Harrier. Not that the new Harrier is terrible looking, but it seems a bit off-putting compared to the Safari. You'll have to go with the badge, however, as it's that simple.
Tata Safari 2021 The Harrier will feature a headlight design that's reminiscent of the Kia Stinger's dual signature taillights. The red one on the model photographed here does not exactly give off the impression of high-end sportiness. Then again, we're not expecting this to be any sort of luxury vehicle either, given the model's Hyundai underpinnings.

The Kia Niro got its global debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. Now, we'll be seeing a more ruggedized iteration that rides on the same platform as the Niro Electric, an all-electric vehicle of the same name. The second model is positioned below the Niro and its powertrain lineup consists of a naturally.

Aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 109 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque, paired to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The range-topping version has a slightly more powerful engine that's tuned to produce 140 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque for use with a 39.2 kWh lithium-polymer battery that takes 3.1 hours to recharge using a 150-watt charger (220V).
Tata Safari 2021 Interior:
When a company puts so much effort into designing a new platform, it would be somewhat disappointing if it's not able to improve the interior as well. The Niro rides on the company's new KPVA platform, which appears to be borrowed from the Kia Soul EV. Just like its predecessors, the dashboard is composed of various glass surfaces for better visibility.
On the one hand, it keeps a cleaner, more driver-oriented appearance than the Sportage's dual-screen dash layout, but also a bit outdated compared to the latest GenZ versions of the Niro (like this one ). Fortunately, the upper part of the dashboard is nicely finished in fabric to keep things a bit more exciting.
Tata Safari 2021 Engine:
The five-door hybrid SUV will feature a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor placed at the rear axle. Power output is yet unknown but the company promises "premium" performance. The gas-only version will have an in-house engine and could have a range of 500 kilometers (310 miles) between charges. It'll be offered in three trim levels, including an extended version for hybrids that can carry three people for long distances.

It will also have a pure electric range of 40 kilometers (25 miles) when it is launched towards the end of the year. Sadly, the plug-in hybrid will not be offered as a different model.
Tata Safari 2021 Safety and Tech:
Like most modern Hyundais, the Niro uses a feature called SmartSense. This suite of active safety and assistance systems includes forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and a driver attention warning system that will deactivate the system if the system senses it's being used for too long. The 2019 Niro also comes with UVO3 service, which means it has Wi-Fi connectivity, an air conditioner, and the possibility to order grocery deliveries.

Tata Safari 2021 Other standard equipment includes an 8-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker audio system, and keyless entry with a push-button start. All 2019 Niro models come with a 160-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. All-wheel-drive models will come standard, and an additional locking differential will also be available.
Tata Safari 2021 Conclusion:
If there's one thing the Niro really does well, it's fuel economy. It's the only car in its class to achieve a rating of at least 50 mpg for combined cycle fuel economy. The Toyota Prius Prime and the Chevy Volt will happily gobble gasoline, but they're no more than commuter cars as most owners rely on the Niro for commuting or light utility duty. Of course, it's not exactly a sports car either, but thanks to that massive 50-liter fuel tank, it could easily operate as an all-day car without draining its fuel reserves.
